The Rohloff hub is by now famous the World Over. This trouble free internal hub gearbox offers 14 true gears and can cover the gear range of a average 27 speed mountain bike.

This hub does away with the need for Front and Rear derailleurs, Sprockets, One front chainring and the original hub, So even though the hub has many internal parts and feels heavy, But when offset against all the parts you no longer need the bikes overall weight does not go up by any great amount. The Rohloff hub comes into it’s own when you realize you only need direct chain drive and the hub is fully sealed from all the dirt and bad weather outside unlike the sprockets. We can supply this hub in a number of finishes and for solo machines or Tandems, with the internal or external gearboxes. They can be fitted to flat or dropped handlebar machines alike.

Bob Jackson Cycles also have a special dropout which can be used with or without disc mounting. This dropout allows for the OEM fitting to be used and gets away from needing the long bracing arm. As the dropout works by allowing the Hub, Disc and Caliper (If required) to slide backwards in the frame. This is then tensioning the chain and also means that a chain tensioner is not required, One less place for the dirt to collect. These dropouts can be fitted to your current frame or you can order them on any New Bob Jackson frameset.

Adaptors are also available allowing the twist shifter to be used on drop handlebars.
