MKS EXA PEDAL

This is the newest toe clip and strap pedal available today, The MKS EXA pedal is made to the exacting demands of todays professional track racers. The pedal exhibits top drawer construction, design and materials. The bearing quality is second to none. The pedal cleat is constructed to use a standard 3 hole fixing system. The pedal features a lever actuated locking pin mechanism to lessen the likelihood of a foot pull during powerful sprint accelerations and standing starts. Used by Japanese professional keirin riders for the last year and now available in the USA.

Here you see the overall view of the pedal, showing the quality construction, the front cleat catches and the locking pin mechanism.

In this view from the rear view of the pedal you can see the locking pin mechanism, the release lever and the cleat locating notches that the cleat fits into to secure the side to side motion of the foot.

This top view of the pedal shows the cleat installed with the pedal secured both in the front with the cleat wing catches and the back with the locking pin mechanism engaged.

This view shows the cleat attached to the sole of the shoe and a view of the locking pin slot in the cleat.

This view shoes entrance of the shoe into the pedal. Much like a clipless pedal you enter the pedal toe down to engage the front cleat wings then step down into the pedal engaging the locking pin mechanism. (you can pull the lever back to disengage the pin to avoid excessive wear while stepping down). After engaging the locking pin, you can now tighten your toe straps (OPTIONAL).
